Amethyst Fibula

This brooch is based on the fibulae worn by ancient Romans to hold their cloaks together and is the basis for our safety pins. Designed to be worn on the right hand side with the swirls at the bottom and the catch uppermost, this fibula is made from silver-plated wire and Amethyst nugget, faceted beads and briolette.

Length to end of swirls is 2½ inches/6½ cms.
